Are we too clean?

Have you ever heard that asthma rates in kids are on the rise. Surprisingly, some experts say it may have to do with our sterile lifestyle and overuse of antibiotics. Exposure to bugs puts the immune system into fighting mode-and that is the good thing. Kids with H.pylori bacterium are half as likely to have asthma as those who don't, according to recent research. Since the invention of antibiotics, this bacterium has been on the decline. The discovery could lead to the development of a preventive treatment.Until then, replace antibacterial soap and cleaning products with normal ones. And when possible, avoid giving your child antibiotics.

Between ages two and three my kids went to their first dental appointment. Our family dentist counted their teeth and he did a basic cleaning then he applied fluoride as simple as that and my kids got used to it and it seemed work out perfectly.

If you don't succeed give it to a kid.

Is it possible to improve upon the classics? A Year One teacher reportedly handed her class the first part of well-known proverbs and asked them to fill in the rest.

* Don't bite the hand that.......... looks dirty.
* You can't teach an old dog new......... maths.
* If you lie down with dogs,you'll......... stink in the morning.
* A penny saved is.......... not much.
* Laugh, and the world laughs with you; cry and.......... you have to blow your nose.
* Children should be seen and not .......... grounded.
* It's always darkest before.......... daylight-savings time.
* When the blind leading the blind .......... get out of the way.

If at first you don't succeed.... Give it to a kid...

benefits of good food

I was flipping through the channels today and I came across this morning show it seems to be interesting though, its all about the nutritional foods and how it works in our body. One of the most important responsibility of a mother is to make sure that we are preparing healthy and nutritious food for our family. I love food, so I like to cook, there was this feel-good experience that I enjoyed all along seeing my family appreciate my effort no matter how simple the food is ohh love it. OK this are the list of nutritional foods that our body needs....

Brain:
Carrots, broccoli, fish, fruits and vegetables high in antioxidants.
Eyes: A variety of foods rich in vitamins C , E , and lutein ( kale, collard greens, citrus fruits, melon)
Lungs: Food high in beta-carotene ( mangoes, carrots, pumpkins, spinach, red pepper)
Heart: fruits, vegetables, grains, fat-free and low fat foods, fish, lean, meats, legumes
Bones: Dairy products, dark green leafy, vegetables, almonds, sesame or sunflower seeds
Skin: Again those beta-carotene rich foods
Colon: High fiber foods ( oats, fruits, vegetables )

Yesterday my seven year old daughter Kei and other five students in their school received the outstanding art recognition award =)  I am so happy and proud of her. About my five year old daughter Rio, on the daily basis she say things that just crack me up, like she decided one morning that she wanted to make herself a breakfast. Seeing how proud she was to get the cereal and milk, I said to her " oh dear, you are growing up so fast here you are making yourself a breakfast. My gosh, you're not a baby anymore. To which she replied with a hug, "No mom remember I'm still your baby and please don't ever try to have another one.

HEY! oh hay fever

It has been five days since my last post. I feel bad not greeting everyone Happy Valentine's day "sorry." So what have I been doing? Well I feel really bad these past few weeks my eyes is teary and itchy, runny nose sneezing like crazy and I can't sleep at all what could be worst than having a HAY FEVER that you feel you've been too miserable. I used to suffer this seasonal allergic rhinitis, also know as HAY FEVER since three years ago and I tried some medicine but nothing ever worked for me. For some people HAY FEVER are a minor, temporary nuisance. But if your symptoms are more persistent like mine they make your life worst and even lost most of you day hiding and wearing a dust mask. Finding the right HAY FEVER treatment probably won't completely eliminate the symptoms — but for most people, I think it makes a big difference.

At the moment of thinking of breaking down :(( and trying some over the counter medicine hopefully this one works for me.... By the way to all my readers with hay fever, have you ever tried any other natural hay fever remedies? I would be very happy to hear about your stories!.

illusion of perfection

I am a happy mom of two adorable angels, I am not trying to create any illusion of perfection. There are moments where I simply can't handle life. But overall being a parent has been the most rewarding thing I've ever done and one of the best yet toughest learning experiences that I've gone through. But there are certain challenges to all the mothers like me on how to be the best mom to your children.....

bro

One of the Philippines largest network abs-cbn introduced a new teleserye that is relevant to our lives. May bukas pa is set to give hope and inspiration to all the viewers in this time of crisis, when everyone seems to desperate for miracle. May bukas pa is the story of a boy name Santino who was left by his mother in a monastery when he was still a baby.He was raised by priests Father Anthony , Father Jose , and Father Ringo . Longing for the love of his birth mother, Santino will find a confidant in ‘Bro’ which the priests believes is his ‘imaginary’ friend. But when the town starts to witness miraculous events which Santino claims to be the works of his friend ‘Bro’, the people will be led to believe that the boy has a gift from God.

I really love this show, heartwarming story and set to open the eyes of viewers that there will always be hope amidst trials and difficulties. Miracles don’t just fall from heaven but comes to those who keep their faith.

my special day

February 7 is my special day because I am celebrating my 29Th birthday. When I think about "I live this long and I'm telling everyone that It's my birthday." I feel so blessed because every time you think about it I'm ALIVE, I live WELL and BLESSED with the love and support of your family and friends are the best gift. Waking up this morning to have this glorious day to enjoy, it made me think about not only are birthdays a time to celebrate but everyday should be a celebration of life, a brand new life.
Before posting this blog I got emails from my friends back in the Philippines. One of my friend started to reminisce about our teenage years, and I love to hear that story over and over again now that were both moms already, and realized that living is harder now than it was then but it's more rewarding and fulfilling when we become a mother. It's so incredible to be a parent and so many great things to look forward too. Sometimes its difficult and stressful but I always move on and continue looking for ways of improvement.
So to all my family and friends. Thank you for given me more than I could possibly deserve . I love you guys....

housework fully accomplish

We went in a spa and I had a nice massage. Today I feel great it's sunny day and we had a yummy breakfast pancakes and chocolate milk. My two girls left the house for school and I just keep the home running smoothly. Today my housework schedule was fully accomplish. I already washed the clothes and hung it in a row, the rooms are all cleaned thoroughly, I scrub the kitchen real well and mop , I do dishes and clean the counter in my kitchen plus vacuuming and dusting. I started wondering what I hate more cleaning the kitchen or ironing. I'd have to say ironing I just hate doing it. Now our house is clean and I feel comfortable and happy.

What do you hate more cleaning your kitchen or ironing?

snow town Fujiten

We had so much fun. Yesterday we went to snow Town Fujiten, a ski resort in Yamanashi city, on the north side of mt Fuji. It's a great place for beginners like us the stunning backdrop of mt Fuji is right there, it's like in your face all the time. Another thing whenever you go, you'll likely be sliding under blue skies and blazing sun.If you're nearby in Yamanashi or Shizuoka or even Tokyo, the place is worth a visit.
There are only four main slopes and for those who are beginners and don't know how to read kanji you'd do well to avoid the far right one. Actually it's just the top bit, the rest will leads to some interesting tabletops, ramps and rails.
