too conscious

For the past few weeks I've been getting a really hard time I can't sleep at all. Too bad because my hay fever is throughout the spring season and it makes me feel miserable. I know that there's no way to avoid this seasonal allergy =(. Since the pollen is everywhere and I can't escape it and neither can the millions of people suffer during this season like I do.

I feel a little self-conscious wearing a mask all the time.

When I first came to Japan, I was really shock seeing people at the train station wearing a surgical mask, my gosh, it freaks me out lol, but hubby explained it to me he said that the main reason why the Japanese wearing a surgical mask are to keep others from getting sick, to keep yourself from getting sick, and to avoid inhaling too much pollen.

All the Japanese markets-drugstore sell a variety of surgical mask with awesome style and art designs like this one ( Hello Kitty). I think it is a good manner to wear a surgical mask in public if you are sick, maybe in some countries like in the Philippines is too embarrassing but here in Japan it is necessary. This mask is also know as a fashion statement for kids and teens here in Japan =)

I love hello kitty :) I wonder if this "trend" started because of the bird flu. I remember seeing surgical masks all over japan on the news.

Just dropped by to welcome you to SITS! Have a great day!
